Ports Of Call
Ports of Call Resort in Providenciales Turks and Caicos offers an affordable option to experience this upscale island destination. Within the Shops of Ports of Call (located on the Resort’s property) guest can take advantage of restaurants, bars, a spa, hair salon, ice cream parlour, Dive Provo dive shop,cigar lounge and several gift and clothing stores. They offer beach access, a swimming pool, air-conditioned rooms with cable TV, direct dial telephones, refrigerator, coffee maker and in-room safe.
Ports of Call Resort has 98 fully renovated deluxe junior suites approximately 325 sq ft offering pool and garden views. Rooms are located in two three story buildings (no elevator) surrounding a lush tropical pool area creating an intimate boutique setting. The resort has a designated beach access to Grace Bay Beach complete with complementary lounges and Tiki-huts only 300 yards from the property. A complimentary shuttle runs each hour. Dive Provo provides daily 2 tank dives which take place all around Provo along the outside of a continuous barrier reef that runs around the Caicos group of islands.
Dive Provo’s PADI Five Star dive center is located at the Shops of Ports of Call, steps from the lobby of the hotel. Divers bring their equipment with them the first day of arrival, and the Dive Provo staffers will rinse and store it for the duration of their stay. Complimentary round-trip transfers is provided from the hotel to Dive Provo’s dive docks at Grace Bay, Pine Cay and North West Point or from the Caicos Marina on the south side for dives to West Caicos and French Cay. Modern boats, designed for customer convenience, include such amenities as showers, rinse tanks, comfortable seating, platform and ladders, as well as VHF radio and safety equipment.
Whales: Humpback whales are frequently seen in January through March when they are migrating to the Silver Banks off the Dominican Republic to mate and calf.
Besides just about every water activity imaginable being available, guests can enjoy golf, horseback riding, tennis and eco tours.
Ports of Call is located within the beautiful Grace Bay area on Providenciales, an island of the Turks and Caicos. The islands are located 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and just to the east of Cuba and the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti.) Technically, the Turks and Caicos are located in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea. Ports of Call Resort is a 15 minute drive from Providenciales airport.
